In Aid of the Bihar Flood affected children

In August, northern Bihar was severly flood affected due to the change in course of river Kosi. The floods have claimed many lives and devastated livestock and property.

Reports from the Ministry of Home Affairs indicate that over 3.3 million people from 1,849 villages in 16 districts of the state have been affected and the death toll has risen to 63. The population is in immediate need of food, clean water, shelter and health support.

To support the above, the "Rock On" team has pioneered a relief effort called "Rock on for Humanity", a live music concert engaging talent from across the country and the Indian Film Industry.

This concert is a call for action for the youth of the country who wish to stand up and be counted as people who care for their fellow country men. No longer does one need to be mere spectators in the fate of your fellow men.

The 3 hour concert slated for the 31st of October ‘08 will feature some of the best talent in the country including Pentagram, Parikrama feat. Saif Ali Khan, Shankar- Esshan-Loy feat. Kunal Ganjawala & Shaan, Raghu Dixit, Something Relevant, Pin Drop Violence, Dream Out Loud, Them Clones, Shaa'ir & Func,, Farhan Akhtar, Kailasa & Avial. The Indian Film Industry will be in full attendance to pledge their support live on stage. Stars like Sharukh Khan, Abhishek and Aishwaria Rai Bachchan, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Hrithik Roshan, to name a few, are expected to participate.

The amount collected through the concert and the donation drive will be used to activate a Medical Camp especially for children and new born infants who are in dire need of attention. This will be done in partnership with the Nargis Dutt Charitable Memorial Trust, a foundation headed by Priya Dutt, who recently initiated relief work in the area.
